The definition of amazing is when your little girl is fussy or crying, and you pick her up and put her in your arms and start talking to her, and she calms down, looks up at you and appears to be perfectly happy. Now think of how great it would be to have that happen 8-10 times per day. Well, that has been my life for the past 6 days. Being a daddy rocks!! Everything about it; the lack of sleep, changing dozens of diapers, the lack of sleep, the amazing bond that Holly and I have that seems to be growing every second of the day, the way Emmie looks at me, her little smiles when she is sleeping that she doesn't even know she is doing, and oh yeah did I mention the lack of sleep!! The last 6 days have been 6 of the best days of my life and I can't wait to raise this little girl and be right by her side every step of the way.
Our experience at Baylor Frisco was truly great. Everything about it was perfect! We had great nurses and doctors, great food, an amazing room with a full size bed for me (bonus!!), and support staff that really makes you feel like you are the only patient in the hospital. Coming home was fun too. We finally got to utilize all of our gifts we received at our showers, used our nursery rather than just sitting in it, and started the very nerve racking project of introducing Emmie to Roxy, our little Puggle! Everything has gone great and we could not be happier!! I never thought that one could love a little baby as much as we love Emersyn.
